I. MISSION
The mission of the Paquita Roberts Scholarship Ministry is to promote and support academic excellence for students seeking post-secondary education.
II. VISION
Financial resource outreach ministry that promotes spiritual growth through the act of giving and receiving, and being of assistance to college students so that those students may, in turn, grow spiritually and be a blessing to others in the future.
III. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Active member or associate of St. Mark A.M.E. Church
2. High school senior or college/trade school student
3. Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (college student)
4. Must be seeking a degree from an accredited college or trade school
5. Must be a dependent as defined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), or a maximum of 26 years of age when application is submitted.
IV. SUBMISSION MATERIAL:
1. Copy of official transcript (if current college student)
2. Copy of Letter of Acceptance from the school you will be attending in the Fall (if high school senior graduate)
3. Essay: (250-350 words maximum) Write an essay on the following topic:
“What does social justice mean to you, and how do you plan to use your education, career, and leadership to make a difference in the lives of others?”
