The Reverend Natasha C. Rouse
Reverend Natasha C. Rouse is a prominent African American pastor, educator, and author known for her work in preaching, teaching, and community leadership. She was called to preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 13 and was licensed to preach at 16. She was ordained as an Itinerant Deacon in the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church at 21 and as an Itinerant Elder at 23, making her the youngest in her class to receive both orders.
Reverend Rouse holds a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Med/Biology with honors from Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA. She also earned a Master of Divinity with honors in New Testament Studies and Pastoral Care & Counseling from Turner Theological Seminary of the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Education with a major in Supervision and Leadership at Grand Canyon University.
She served as Pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Newark, NJ, alongside her husband, Reverend Vincent M. Rouse. Reverend Rouse is the founder of At the Well Ministries, an organization she leads through “Mentoring Monday,” a monthly teaching event for women in pastoral leadership. She is also recognized as a Parent Engagement Instructional Specialist with the Newark Board of Education, where she mentors Parent Liaisons and fosters family engagement in education.
Reverend Rouse is active in teaching and counseling, focusing on wives, young women, couples, children, and families, as well as praying for leaders and communities. She has traveled extensively across the country to teach and preach the Gospel.
In 2025, she published “Watch Out: I’m Oily!”, a spiritual book exploring the importance of purity, preparation, and living with purpose in alignment with God’s calling.
She is married to Reverend Vincent M. Rouse, with whom she shares a strong faith partnership. They are the parents of Vincent Maurice Rouse Jr. and Victoria Michelle Rouse.
Reverend Rouse is affectionately called “God’s Prophetess” for her dedication to encouraging, equipping, enlightening, teaching, and preaching to those seeking the goodness of Jesus Christ. Her motto is: “Only what you do for Christ will last!”
